With the prices !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! are fetching on BAT, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! You might be thinking, maybe it was listed incorrectly as a DCT, but you would be wrong. Behold the three pedal goodness:
For 32k, this seems suspiciously cheap.
I’d be surprised if the owner isn’t aware of the premium that manuals are commanding, or maybe my outlook on the E9X M3 market is wrong; regardless, if you’re looking for a decent mileage E90 M3 this is probably the one for you. Unless there is a reason for the seemingly low price is a shady history; maybe that’s why the VIN ins’t provided. If someone here does buy it, take off that Nurburgring sticker off the back.
Unless it’s one of these:

I should probably buy this...

Honestly, you probably should, unless the title is branded.

Why buy a GTI when you could have this.

Looks like a NP to me - pending the Carfax of course.
And does the buyer get alllllll the wheels and tires with that?

Looks like you get the style 359s and the 219s.

Oh and I went into a local dealer and saw this yesterday. Got all excited because I thought this dealer would know better...

“ 1-year remaining on engine warranty”
Hmm... makes me wonder.

Salvage title.

DCT listed as manual?
![]() 10/24/2018 at 10:16 |

Yeah, that was suspicious.

The lack of a VIN is annoying...

Without the VIN being supplied that could be a chance.

Yep. On an otherwise nicely equipped car, with 70k miles. At 30k it’s probably not a bad price for a DCT I guess.

Some internet super- sleuthing led me to find that this car is actually a clean title car according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
I colored over the vin since I didn’t feel right about posting it since the seller didn’t, but you may or may not be able to look up the car by its plate on the MyCarFax app and you may or may not be able to find its vin from there.

Nice sleuthing!

I say that is reasonable though I don’t pay as much attention to the market anymore. That’s what I paid for my 2009 with less miles three years ago.

If it said drivetrain, I’d be less suspicious, because it’s not unusual to get an extended warranty for that , but specifying engine makes me think the one in this car might not be original.

I have a worse idea:

What could possibly go wrong with a manual E60 M5 with 100k mi listed for $19,995 at a dealer offering instant credit approval?
![]() 10/24/2018 at 12:03 |

Holy crap, there’s 2 of them listed <$20k near me. This has to be a glitch in the matrix.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to decide if I hate my wallet:

For reference, others here seem to be more around this price range: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/city-of-toronto/2008-bmw-m3/1358321739

Lots of miles, but if the rod bearings have been done, these engines are pretty bullet proof.

I was keeping my search for a second/summer car under $15K but Kijiji recommended the cheap one to me and it’s annoyingly tempting.
![]() 10/24/2018 at 12:54 |

If you’ve got the funds, that is tempting.
![]() 10/24/2018 at 13:01 |

Funds are in place, I’m just too sensible for my own good as I’d like to keep the majority of my savings for a house purchase in the near-ish future.
I’d probably be wiser to spend $10k more for a much lower mileage example, o r just buying en e46 m3. Ive been looking for an e36 m3 but they’re not that common anymore. I think there’s 2 or 3 in Ontario that aren’t complete beaters. :<

I think with those, maintenance records trump mileage.
E46s also can be hit or miss, decent ones seem to be appreciating .

T hat’s my experience with the e46 exactly. A lot of them seem to be r agged on and have imminent maintenance needs. Rod bearings are a concern on them as well.
I’m not in any rush to buy as winter is fast approaching but now could be a good time as sports car season is over.
